Rejection

You will hear the word no 8 million times in your life. I think Zig Ziglar said that, or something similar.

My son heard a variation of "Don't do that" so often, he thought that it was his name when he was three.

We hear the rejections throughout our lives. It never seems to stop. Sales persons make a career out of "No's". For every 15 No's, you get one sale. Do the math, make the money.

I started off so happy and confident with what I was attempting; a total remarketing of myself in order to move to my next career. Every time I listened to the naysayers and Monday morning quarterbacks (myself especially!), I felt worse than I did before. I wanted so badly to succeed, I was crushed by rejection.

I would make long speeches to my wife about how "The Next One" was going to work out.

And how I remained optimistic despite the odds.

It seemed like things would never work out despite what I believed.

People living with rejection and failure start to live moment to moment, day to day. I did not read that in a book on sociology, I say that based upon my own experience.

Rejection forces our head down into the ground of defeat. It lowers our opinion of ourselves. Rejection is an anchor around our self confidence which drags us into the depths of despair.

Take control of your life. Ignore everything negative around you and concentrate on what is good and noble. Never give up hope. Hope shines and lifts the spirit. Never give up.
